Help the Homeless Walk

The Help the Homeless Program is an amazing program that raises awareness of homelessness and supports organizations which work to prevent and end homelessness in the D.C. metropolitan area. In response to the almost 12,000 person homeless population of D.C., The Fannie Mae Foundation is sponsoring Help the Homeless Walk on the National Mall on November 21, 2009. The walk hopes to raise both funding and awareness and takes place on the lawn in front of The Department of Agriculture (Jefferson Drive b/w 12th & 14th Streets NW). Walkers can pre-register at 7a.m. and begin the 3.1 mile walk circling the Tidal Basin at 9a.m. Visit www.helpthehomelessdc.org for more information and to register.
